Role Overview: The Blockchain Platform team at Kraken forms the backbone of all systems interacting with blockchain nodes and data. This role is central to enabling efficient operations across the company by providing standardized data and interaction methods for different blockchain protocols.
Responsibilities:
Integrate existing systems with new blockchains.
Develop low-latency, high-availability, and super secure applications.
Write scalable, high-volume services and reusable, testable, and efficient code.
Maintain and enhance existing crypto services.
Collaborate with various teams to meet their blockchain data needs.
Desired Experience:
Minimum 5 years as a backend developer, with hands-on experience in multiple blockchain ecosystems.
Proficiency with Kafka, large data handling, API development (GraphQL, gRPC), and basic DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Understanding of scalable application design principles and code versioning tools (Git).
Familiarity with Rust and TypeScript, and a strong foundation in secure, reliable, and privacy-focused software development.
Additional Skills: Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset, capable of handling complex challenges and engaging constructively in diverse team settings.

Compensation: Target annual salary range is $131,000 to $190,000, exclusive of bonuses, equity, wellness allowances, and other benefits like medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) [US Only]. The salary range is influenced by skillset, experience, and job scope, with a commitment to recognizing and retaining top talent.
