  • Work Opportunities: Kraken is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Custody team, focusing on developing secure, efficient, and innovative custody solutions in cryptocurrency storage and transactions. This role is fully remote, providing the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with a global team.
  • Role Overview: The Senior Software Engineer will play a critical role in enhancing the security and functionality of Kraken’s custody services. This includes integrating new blockchain technologies, working on embedded software in specialized hardware, and maintaining high-performance, scalable systems.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and super secure applications for cryptocurrency custody.
    • Work with embedded software on specialized hardware such as HSMs.
    • Develop and maintain scalable, high-volume services and efficient, testable code.
    • Collaborate with other teams to support their needs and integrate new blockchain technologies.
  • Desired Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience as a backend developer with a strong background in Rust, C++, or Go.
    • Experience with blockchain daemons like Bitcoin and Litecoin.
    • Proficiency in cryptographic principles and security compliance.
    • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and GNU/Linux operating systems.
    • Strong proficiency in asynchronous programming, user authentication, and authorization between multiple systems.
