Role Overview: Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will develop products and tools that empower creators to maintain safe experiences on their platforms. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and a deep commitment to improving community safety.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement large-scale services and tools used by teams across Roblox to detect and mitigate problematic content.
Build and refine systems that increase the accuracy and efficiency of our moderation capabilities.
Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective engineering solutions.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering an environment of technical excellence and innovation.
Desired Experience:
8+ years of experience in backend service development, with a focus on large-scale systems and security features.
4+ years of leadership experience, guiding engineering teams through complex projects.
8+ years of experience in building RESTful or GraphQL APIs using languages like Go, Python, C#, or Java.
Experience with database technologies such as DynamoDB, Cassandra, or MySQL, and data pipeline tools like Kafka or Spark.
Familiarity with web development using JavaScript frameworks like React, AngularJS, or Vue.js.
Additional Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to tackle challenging technical problems. Excellent communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders. A passion for driving change and influencing product direction through technical leadership.
Compensation: The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $283,780 to $331,640, along with equity compensation and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, a rewarding 401k program, and flexible vacation policies.
