Work Opportunities: Kraken is looking for talented individuals to join its Incubation team, which focuses on innovative blockchain technologies and on-chain solutions. This fully remote team is responsible for exploring and integrating new protocols and decentralized applications to enhance Kraken’s offerings.
Role Overview: Team members on the Incubation team work with Rust Engineers, cryptographers, and on-chain experts to develop and implement on-chain strategies, including smart contracts and Layer 2 solutions. This role involves independent research, open-source contributions, and active participation in the crypto community through conferences and networking.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage on-chain smart contracts and protocols.
Implement EVM layer 2 solutions.
Conduct independent research and publish under open-source licenses.
Engage with the on-chain ecosystem through conference attendance and networking.
Desired Experience:
Extensive experience as an on-chain developer with a proven track record in secure smart contracts and protocol engineering.
Deep knowledge of EVM and non-EVM blockchain ecosystems.
Proficiency in Solidity, with Rust and Go being advantageous.
Additional Skills: Experience in technical leadership and mentoring. Familiarity with modern cryptographic techniques and on-chain security practices. Passion for developing privacy-focused and high-performance software.

Compensation: The target annual salary range for this role is $155,000 to $234,000, exclusive of bonuses, equity, and other benefits such as a wellness allowance and comprehensive health coverage.
