Role Overview: The role focuses on being the core architect and lead engineer for OpenSea v2.0, guiding the evolution of the platform’s architecture using scalable and event-driven designs.
Responsibilities:
Formulate, communicate, and implement a technical vision for the next generation of OpenSea’s architecture, focusing on scalability and event-driven patterns.
Develop reliable, low latency infrastructure capable of handling significant transaction volumes, including blockchain indexing systems and order management systems.
Elevate internal standards for building high-performance and event-driven systems with live characteristics.
Mentor team members, promoting architectural excellence and acting as a thought leader within the company.
Desired Experience:
Minimum 6 years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 year in a low-latency retail crypto exchange.
Expertise in event-driven system design using technologies such as Kafka, Flink, and Debezium.
Proficiency in Kotlin/Java, Typescript, or Go.
Strong understanding of database management and schema design for scalable applications.
Knowledge of architectural patterns used in financial exchanges, such as sequencer architectures, matching engines, and order books.
Experience with blockchain or smart contracts is beneficial.
Compensation: The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $215,000 to $340,000, plus benefits and equity.
