Role Overview: The Character Rigger and Technical Animator will be responsible for rigging and animating high-fidelity characters in Maya for games, ensuring that avatar components such as body, clothing, and facial features are optimized for performance and compatibility in a modular system.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the character modeling team to ensure compatibility and interchangeability of components.
Design rigging workflows and script automation for character and environment assembly.
Develop and maintain bone-driven facial animation systems for runtime optimization in Unreal Engine.
Participate in the development of project plans, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Desired Experience:
5+ years in technical animation or rigging, with specific experience in AAA game development.
Proficiency in Maya and Unreal Engine, with a strong understanding of procedural rigging systems.
Experience with Python scripting and tool development for animation workflows.
Additional Skills: Strong knowledge of anatomy and kinematics, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
