Non-fungible token (NFT) project Azuki has unveiled a new update regarding its upcoming anime series — set to debut at the end of the month.

In a recent post on X (Twitter), Azuki shared the completion of Episode 1 of its “Enter The Garden” series, crafted through collaborations with Dentsu, a prominent global marketing agency, Qzi.la, a Japanese animation studio, and Imagica Infos, an entertainment content producer.

Episode 1 sees the involvement of Junichi Yamamoto, known for animation work on the acclaimed console game “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” Kinu Nishimura handling character design, and voice talents Akari Kito and Tomokazu Sugita.

Azuki’s strategy unfolds with a three-part anthology series, aiming to integrate top talent from the anime industry into Web3, fostering collaborations with diverse creative teams for each episode’s realization.

“This anthology series is just the beginning of our web3 anime journey,” stated Azuki in its X post. “Over time, we will continue to iterate and improve on this novel process, where the creative teams can deliver unique stories and expressions of the IP while the community is rewarded for owning and participating in co-creating the IP.”

Chiru Labs, the entity behind Azuki, has previously expanded its Web3 initiatives beyond the boundaries of the NFT space. In January, the company partnered with IPX to introduce a physical collection inspired by Beanz NFTs.

Azuki joins a growing trend of NFT projects venturing into animated content featuring their collections. Examples include Doodles, which recently collaborated with Pharrell Williams for “Dullsville and the Doodleverse,” a multi-dimensional storytelling experience.

Similarly, Bitcoin & Friends, an animated series centered on Bitcoin, debuted its inaugural season in January. Similarly, Cool Cats released its “The Milk Chug” series in 2023.
