Herman Miller, the American company that produces office furniture, equipment, and home furnishings, has filed a trademark application expressing its intentions to enter the metaverse and embrace non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to the trademark application, submitted to the USPTO on August 2, the company aims to offer:

  • Virtual goods, namely furniture, home decor, outdoor furnishings, and more;
  • Online retail store services featuring virtual goods;
  • NFTs;
  • Financial services, namely providing electronic transfer of a digital currency or digital token.

The news was shared via Twitter by metaverse trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.

The number of the metaverse and NFT-related trademark applications submitted daily is increasing. New and traditional companies alike are hopping on board to avoid being left behind and to gain a new market share that will allow them to provide new and more innovative experiences.
