Cubic (cubic.art), a Mexican company backed by LS/Galeria that specializes in acquiring out-of-reach art and dividing it into ‘cubes’ or NFTs, has announced the launch of the first masterpiece that will be fragmented: Andy Warhol’s Portraits of the Artists 17.
Andy Warhol, one of the most influential figures in contemporary art, created Portraits of the Artists 17 in 1967. The work comprises 10 silkscreen reproductions in polystyrene cubes, with the portraits of the 10 artists that are included in the portfolio: Robert Morris, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Larry Poons, James Rosenquist, Frank Stella, Lee Bontecou, Donald Judd, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol himself.
Each artist shown becomes an icon worthy of unending duplication, attesting to the importance that each of these artists had on 1960s art.
People can now own a piece of this extraordinary artwork, which Cubic split into 961 NFTs.

Each NFT will cost $55 during the whitelist sale and $65 during the public sale and will provide holders with ownership of a portion of the physical artwork as well as access to unique community events and rewards.
Each cube purchased will be revealed 24 hours after it has been sold out.
