Animoca Brands Acquires Majority Stake in Music Metaverse Platform

Animoca Brands has acquired a majority stake in music metaverse platform Pixelynx, with the goal of changing how fans and artists connect.

Animoca Brands, a Hong Kong-based gaming software company, has acquired a majority stake in Pixelynx in an effort to increase its position within Web3.

Pixelynx is a music metaverse game platform with the objective of allowing artists to connect with fans, partners, and platforms in new ways. To that end, the platform will provide new tools for creating, sharing, and selling music.

Among its forthcoming releases is Elynxir, a next-generation mobile gaming platform that uses technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and geolocation to bring fans closer to their favorite artists through unique music content, in-game collectibles, and gaming experiences.

Animoca Brands and Pixelynx will focus on developing new ways to consume music and making them scalable throughout the metaverse. This will unlock a new type of artist-to-fan interaction and new income potential.

Animoca Brands has been involved in a number of Web3 activities. Last month, it collaborated with Cool Cats and OneFootball Labs to introduce the “Cool Cats FC” NFT collection, and it partnered with Arevo to create a line of customized carbon fiber bikes with privately owned NFT artwork. In October, it teamed up with the educational portal TinyTapto auction Publisher NFTs.
