CVS Pharmacy Plans To Enter the Metaverse with Virtual Prescription Drugs and Healthcare Services

CVS Pharmacy has filed four trademark applications for CVS, CVS PHARMACY, CVS HEALTH, and the CVS heart logo, indicating its intention to enter the metaverse.

Today, the American retail corporation CVS Pharmacy has filed four trademark applications for CVS, CVS PHARMACY, CVS HEALTH, and the CVS heart logo, expressing its intention to enter the metaverse.

The trademark applications indicate the company plans to offer virtual goods, including prescription drugs, health, beauty, and personal care products, as well as other general merchandise for use in virtual worlds.

Virtual goods will also include crypto-collectibles and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

CVS Pharmacy also intends to offer healthcare services in ‌virtual reality and augmented reality. Services will include non-emergency medical treatments, wellness programs, advisory services relating to nutrition, personalized routines, and more.

The news was announced by trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis via Twitter earlier today.

Apparently, the medical industry has also jumped into the virtual world, following others. A variety of brands, also from the personal care industry, have already registered trademarks to show their intent to enter the metaverse.

As an example, a few days ago, Johnson & Johnson filed trademark applications for NEUTROGENA and AVEENO as a first step towards entering the metaverse with virtual beauty, skin care, sun care, and cosmetics products.
