Ecolab Inc., the company that develops and offers services, technology and systems that specialize in water treatment, purification, cleaning and hygiene in a wide variety of applications, has filed trademark applications for “ECOLAB” and “ECOLAB SCIENCE CERTIFIED”, expressing its intention to enter the metaverse.
According to the trademark applications, filed on March 14, 2022, the company aims to provide “downloadable multimedia file containing artwork, audio, video, and text relating to cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing and pest elimination services authenticated by non-fungible tokens (NFTs).”
As part of its plans, the company will also provide “digital collectible services, operating an online marketplace, for transactions and registry services using blockchain-based software technology and smart contracts for digital collectibles.”
The news was shared earlier today on Twitter by metaverse trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.
