Japanese gaming company Konami has selected the Avalanche blockchain for the launch of its new non-fungible token (NFT) platform, Resella

Initially unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show 2023, the platform aims to streamline the creation, issuance, and trading of NFTs, primarily targeting in-game assets.

Resella will also integrate Web3 solutions, enabling businesses to incorporate blockchain technology into their operations.

In a press release shared today, Konami emphasized the platform’s user-friendly design. Users will not need a crypto wallet or advanced knowledge of Web3 to use Resella, as transactions can be conducted in fiat currency, specifically Japanese yen. Additionally, there will be no gas fees for transactions.

Konami also preannounced new partnerships with various companies, aiming to offer users enhanced experiences through Resella.

Further details about the platform are set to be disclosed on July 5, 2024, at IVS Crypto 2024 KYOTO, one of Japan’s largest crypto conferences.

This is not Konami’s first foray into the Web3 space. In 2022, to celebrate Castlevania’s 35th anniversary, the company held an NFT auction that concluded with nearly $165,000 in sales.

That same year, Konami began recruiting diverse talent to innovate in areas like Web3 and the metaverse.
