Tiny Rebel Games, an award-winning developer of games and augmented reality experiences, announced a $7 million funding round led by Fabric Ventures for Petaverse Network.

Petaverse Network seeks to create an open standard for digital pets – a data solution that will enable users to create permanent virtual companions that can be used across the metaverse.

As well as being an open standard, the company is also developing games, apps, and experiences that will let users interact with pets.

The funding will be used to accelerate the deployment of pet companions and varieties across the metaverse, to develop new games and experiences, and to further hire key developers.

Pets will be compatible across platforms, wherever users live their digital lives, expanding the company’s vision for widespread utility in web3. Petaverse Network will offer users the chance to bond with, train, and evolve pets based on their DNA and interactions with them.

Other investors also contributed to the fund, including Animoca Brands, Dapper Labs, CMT Digital, Sfermion, Spin Master, Skyvision, Fenbushi, A41, Fourth Revolution Capital, Double Peak, Pirata, 6th Man, Ready Player DAO, Triangle Capital, and Sterling Capital.

“We are delighted that our grand vision for the future of pet ownership has been supported and validated by such an amazing syndicate of forward-thinking Web3 investors,” says Susan Cummings, CEO of Petaverse Network. “We can’t wait for pet fans to see the games and experiences we are building which will allow them to bring their virtual pets into all corners of their digital lives, beginning soon with cats.”
