The Italian luxury fashion company Versace has applied for a trademark expressing its intention to enter the metaverse and venture into the field of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The trademark application states that Versace intends to provide virtual goods, such as clothing, eyewear, footwear, perfumes, jewelry, and accessories, to be used in virtual worlds.

In addition, the company plans to offer retail store services and entertainment services featuring virtual goods. Plans call for the issuance of NFTs.

The news was posted on Twitter by trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis today, who stated: “VERSACE is coming to the Metaverse!”.

Versace is joining the growing number of big brands exploring the metaverse and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Jeans company Wrangler filed its trademark application titled “WRANGLERVERSE” last week, indicating its intentions to enter the metaverse, and released its “Mr. Wrangler” NFT collection two days ago.

Hugo Boss and Champion are among the other companies who have applied for trademarks to enter the metaverse with virtual clothing.
