Renowned office supplies manufacturer Faber-Castell has taken a significant step towards embracing the Web3 era, as evidenced by its recent trademark application.

The application, submitted with the USPTO on May 10, 2023, outlines the company’s plans to offer virtual goods in the metaverse, including drawing materials, writing utensils, rulers, notebooks, and more.

Faber-Castell’s ambitious vision extends to providing retail store services for virtual goods, as well as creating interactive virtual environments for recreational and entertainment purposes.

The news broke through a tweet from Michael Kondoudis, a trademark attorney with expertise in Web3-related filings.

This move by Faber-Castell follows in the footsteps of another stationery giant, Post-it, which demonstrated interest in Web3 and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) by submitting a similar trademark application in April 2022.

These developments signify a growing trend among traditional companies to explore opportunities within the metaverse and leverage the potential of digital assets.
