Crown Royal Files Trademark Application to Enter the Metaverse with Virtual Whiskey

Crown Royal has filled a trademark application to enter the metaverse and the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Crown Royal‘s owner has applied for a trademark for “CROWN ROYAL,” indicating the brand’s ambition to enter the metaverse and the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to the trademark application, the company aims to provide:

  • Collectibles, art, tokens, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs);
  • Virtual goods;
  • Downloadable computer software for providing access to digital electronic content and experiences pertaining to non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages in a virtual environment, including a metaverse, virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, etc.;
  • Retail store services and online store services featuring physical and virtual goods, namely non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and branded clothing, footwear, headwear, fashion accessories, and more;
  • Entertainment services in the nature of organizing, arranging, and hosting virtual performances, art exhibition services, social entertainment services.

The news was shared earlier today via Twitter by metaverse trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.


In addition to Crown Royal, other big companies have recently filed trademark applications to enter the metaverse with virtual food and drinks, such as Red Bull, Wingstop, UTZ, Conagra Brands, Panera Bread, McDonald’s, Anheuser-Busch, and many others.
