St. Jude Hospital, a leading children’s hospital that treats the toughest childhood cancers and pediatric diseases in the United States, has recently filed trademark applications, expressing its intentions to enter the metaverse and the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to the trademark applications, the hospital aims to provide:

  • NFTs, avatars, crypto-collectibles, application tokens;
  • Media authenticated by NFTs;
  • Virtual health and wellness products;
  • Virtual stores selling virtual and non-virtual goods;
  • Online marketplaces for NFT-backed digital assets and digital collectibles;
  • Software for entry to virtual and metaverse environments

The news was shared earlier today via Twitter by trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.

The health industry appears to be as immersed in the new technology movement as any other.

A flood of metaverse and NFT-related trademark fillings is pouring in, concretizing huge firms’ aspirations to signify their debut into the new reality that will eventually characterize the new normality.
