Fashion company Marc Jacobs has filed a trademark application signaling its plans to enter the metaverse and the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to the application, submitted to the USPTO on August 2, the company plans to offer:

  • Virtual goods, namely clothing, footwear, headwear, fashion accessories, and more;
  • Retail store services and online store services featuring virtual goods;
  • NFTs;
  • An online community for digital assets, NFTs, and metaverses.

The news was shared earlier today via Twitter by metaverse trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.

Many other fashion brands are following in the footsteps of Marc Jacobs and joining both the metaverse and the NFT space. Champion, Under Armour, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, Carhartt, and more have already filed similar trademark applications.
