American premium clothing brand Tommy Hilfiger has filed a trademark application for its name expressing its intention to enter the metaverse and embrace non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to the trademark application, the company aims to provide virtual goods, including clothing, footwear, fashion accessories, fragrance, personal care products, eyewear, and more for use in online virtual worlds.

In addition, the brand plans to offer online retail store services featuring physical and virtual merchandise and an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of digital goods authenticated by NFTs.

Metaverse trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis shared the news via Twitter earlier today.

Tommy Hilfiger is not the first clothing brand to declare its intention to enter the metaverse.

Levi’s, Hugo Boss, Perry Ellis, Versace, Champion, as well as many others registered trademarks for joining the virtual world.
